What is the difference between YJV cable and VV cable?

Mar. 06, 2018

The difference between YJV cable and VV cable:

1.The product name is different, and the meaning is different

YJV insulation is crosslinked polyethylene, VV insulation is polyvinyl chloride;

2.There are also differences in production equipment and process manufacturing

VV is the plastic cable, YJV is the crosslinking cable, its insulation layer is better than the plastic cable; YJV has done crosslinking on insulating materials to increase heat resistance temperature, while VV does not.

YJV cable operating temperature of 90 degrees, while the VV only 70 degrees, with the cross-sectional area YJV cable carrying current is bigger; VV cable conductor maximum rated temperature is 70 degrees Celsius, short circuit (less than 5 seconds duration) maximum temperature does not exceed Celsius 160 degrees.The highest rated temperature of the YJV cable conductor is 90 degrees centigrade, and the maximum temperature is no more than 250 degrees centigrade when short circuit (duration is less than 5 seconds); YJV is better than VV (long service life, etc.) in the long run, but it is more expensive than VV. The maximum height of the short-circuit: YJV is 250 degrees, VV is 160, 140.

3.From the technical and economic indicators, three-core YJV parameters are higher than the VV cable in . YJV is recommended for use in civil buildings. Its current carrying capacity is larger than that of VV. More importantly, in the case of electrical fire, the insulating material does not contain chlorine, which does not produce poisonous gas. So that means VV is less environmentally friendly. So that is worse VV environmental performance. VV has basically been replaced by YJV in civil,nuclear and other fields, but VV is still widely used in many industrial companies because of its low price.
